Matthew 5:14-16  “You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeps shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

Signing up is as easy as finding your Church Representative and signing up with them at your local church!

Volunteer Roles

– Act as the liaison between Habitat and their congregation
– Seek out volunteers in congregation willing to volunteer on the build site
– Work with the Habitat Volunteer Coordinator to ensure good communication with potential volunteers
– Collects volunteer applications and waiver form packets and sends them to the Volunteer Coordinator at least two weeks in advance before a group is scheduled to come on site
– When possible, join us at the build site and help lead the crew for the day
– Monthly meetings with the Habitat Volunteer Coordinator to provide overall status of their activities, discuss upcoming needs, present prayer requests, and update the group on fundraising efforts
– Someone with construction experience or knowledge who is willing to lead the group on site
– This position is needed whenever there will be more than five people on the site from a church
– If there is not someone with construction experience, you can use someone who is willing to help lead
– This person will show up at least fifteen minutes earlier than the rest of the group to meet with the Construction Supervisor to get directions in what the group will be doing that day and how they can help lead
– Greets volunteers as they arrive on site
– Will check off attendees from a list provided by the Volunteer Coordinator of those who have been approved and already signed their two waiver forms
– Directs volunteers to where the water cooler is
– If pastries or coffee will be donated, make arrangements with the Volunteers Coordinator to pick those up and put them out in the morning on site
Creates a team from your congregation to prepare snacks and/or lunches for their construction crew
Come out to the site for one or more days through your church to work on the house.
